The Origins of Scaling in Cities

A new Science article takes city scaling to a new level, not far enough for rethinking urban ecology, perhaps an incomplete theory but interesting view point.

  2. I've read this paper, and many of his others, and I really have to say that I often dislike PNAS and Science papers because they are so condensed as to be nigh impenetrable. I suggest also (or instead) reading this, which covers the same territory at greater length, and in more approachable form for most: http://www.santafe.edu/media/workingpapers/13-03-008.pdf
